Ohmi beef, Matsuzaka beef and Kobe beef are referred to as Japan's top three Wagyu beef brands. Ohmi beef is highly regarded among the three as a smooth-textured beef whose sweet fat melts in the mouth. Its special flavor and softness are extremely fine. The mellow flavor is a taste explosion. Ohmi beef has around 400 years of history. It has the longest history of all the Japanese beef brands.

Ohmi beef is carefully raised on concentrated feed in an environment abundant in nature and water in the Ohmi district. The unique sweet flavor and splendor of this beef fills the mouth.

The Ohmi turnip is one of the largest kinds of turnip, and has a unique texture. Rich in Vitamin C and diastase, a digestive enzyme, turnips become even more nutritious when they are in season.

This is a traditional vegetable which has been grown in Hino-cho, Shiga Prefecture for about 500 years. It has long been popular for its balance of pungent and sour flavors. Both leaves and stems are enjoyed, mainly as pickles.

Ohmi rice is grown in nutrient-rich soil and is cultivated with pure water from the Ohmi mountains. The climate of Ohmi features a large temperature difference between night and day, and this is another reason why the rice is so superb. All rice served at Yumotokan is locally produced Ohmi rice.
